A letter to G's mom
Mrs. (Angreeblkmama)my edit.,
First of all please allow me to express my condolences. My name is F, R and I have been partners for the last 12 yrs.
We first met Gerald in Seattle a few years ago, Rob and he had a friendship instantly. They were the best of friends and R does not make friends, most people are not worthy. That was not the case with Gerald.
When we moved to California leaving Gerald behind was the hardest part, Robbie and he spoke several times a day and were always in contact. This I know is the most difficult situation that R has ever had to deal with. Please don’t misunderstand me I could never imagine what you and your family are going through.
On a recent trip to California Gerald had the great fortune to meet one of our closest friends, J and they became buddies right away. They spoke all the time and had a close friendship. J, as all of us, is devastated.
I just wanted to send a note to say how deeply sorry and saddened we are. Gerald was the greatest friend in the world and the sweetest man anyone could ever have the privilege of meeting. He always said that there were two people in his life that he loved and could count on, and that truly loved him, it was his MOM and R. I will never know the pain of your loss but for me I had a friend for a long time and it was filled with laughter and tears, silliness and stupidity, honesty and compassion. For the time I spent with Gerald I am grateful, for the time I will not, I am thankful of what time I did.
Congratulations on raising a good boy and turning him into a brilliant man. Thank you; we are all just products of our parents.
Please take comfort in the fact that Gerald was loved unconditionally and in the truest form, just for being him.
My heartfelt sympathy and love,
